Fighting Corruption and instability 

The Libyan American Coalition is launching its security reform initiative later this year. 

Our proposal aims to address the immediate challenges armed groups pose for safety in Libya, and also the underlining factors driving their formation including corruption, quarrels over energy resources, and backing by foreign powers.

Our plan combines input from senior former US security and military officials, along with members of civil society inside Libya and local stakeholders. The long-term solution to reining in militias is holding free and fair elections for a democratic government. Lasting, private sector growth in Libya that benefits all people will only be realized by eliminating corruption.
